Circumcision For Women
Monday, November 28, 2011
Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih Al-'Utsaimin rahimahullah asked, "O noble Sheikh, associated with circumcision for women, whether obligatory or sunna?"
Rahimahullah He replied,
"The most precise of the words of the scholars in this issue are those of the middle, that circumcision is obligatory for men, but not mandatory for women. The difference was very obvious because the foreskin is there for men, if left unchecked, can give the effect of danger when urinating. Other effects again, his cock would be more easily contaminated in the area between the foreskin, which later will be cut-and cock. It is not we meet in women. Therefore, the correct scholarly opinion on this issue, circumcision is obligatory for men and sunna for women.
Some scholars say that circumcision is obligatory for both. Some others say that the law is merely sunna circumcision for both. However, the right is the opinion of the middle ages, that the law of circumcision is obligatory for men and the Sunnah for a woman.
